Examine your pool umbrellas design to make sure the problem can be repaired. If the metal spoke is damaged, or if the open and close mechanism does not work, this repair work will not. Examine at the end of one speaker to see that there is a small round loop or hole. If this is the case, and the fabric has been easily detached, you can sew it. Although umbrellas from the dollar store usually have this loop, there are very rare exceptions that cannot be determined. Out a medium fine padding needle and thread to match the umbrella. The needle must be small enough to go through the loop.
Thread the thread through the needle and double it to about 15 inches in length. Cut so that both ends are equal in length and knot on the thread. Sew through the pool umbrella fabric begins on the underside near the place or corner that has worn away from the spoken. Just start a fraction of an inch from that point and pull the thread through. Poke your needle through the loop and pull the thread, attach the fabric to the case. Take the needle around and poke it again through the underside of the fabric, which comes all the way through the loop and tighten properly.
Repeat approximately three times, sew a seam through the fabric and loop and tighten each time. Knot the thread by sewing through the loop again, but before tightening the loop, stick the needle through the thread loop and pull it through. Do this twice. For added safety, make a final mask on the underside of the fabric near the location and knot it. Repeat the steps above for all locations the fabric has pulled off the spokes. Your umbrella is as good as new! You can fix your favorite umbrella, save money and be ready for rain.
